Flight departures is not going to be delayed or held in order for connecting Customers to take a pet to an animal relief space. There will be no more than six scheduled pet carriers per scheduled flight. Pets have to be secured within the pet service always whereas in the gate space, during boarding/deplaning, and so they should stay within the service for the entire duration of the flight. Failure to comply with this requirement might end in denial of transportation of the pet onboard Southwest Airlines. A Neighbor Island Inspection Permit issued by the Department must be offered to the airline previous to boarding and is required to fly a cat or canine directly to an approved neighbor island airport.
